Juan Ramón Crespo, the coordinator of Izquierda Unida in Castilla-La Mancha, presented the electoral program adapted for people with sensory, physical, and intellectual disabilities, together with the candidate for the mayoralty of Toledo for Unidas IU Podemos, Txema Fernández, and the manager of Plena Inclusión C-LM, Daniel Collado.
Crespo emphasized the importance of electoral programs being understood by everyone, regardless of their ability. Fernández committed to fulfilling the electoral program, which he described as a «social contract.» He emphasized the need to provide sufficient life autonomy to people who need to make use of the program.
Collado explained that Plena Inclusión had adapted the electoral program for IU in Castilla-La Mancha for the second time. The first adaptation took place in 2019, as an IU initiative following the reform of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime in 2018.
According to Fernández, it is a priority that municipal documents be understandable to everyone, mentioning ordinances, tax documents, and environmental signage as specific examples. Thanks to this initiative, many people with disabilities will have the opportunity to reflect on political proposals and participate actively in the electoral process.
