Toledo is getting ready to celebrate Holy Week once more, this time with a few new additions to the agenda. The festivities will include informative talks on the Shroud of Turin, as well as interactive workshops aiming to include those with visual and hearing impairments in the reenactment of Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection. In accordance with journalist and filmmaker Juan Manuel Cotelo’s pre-Easter speech, the city will be themed «silence and solitude,» with the ceremony costing €37,000, €12,500 of which was contributed by the local council. Parishes will donate a portion of their profits to charitable organizations, while parties and other celebrations will pay tribute to the cultural and religious value of the holiday.
